About the Staff
Since 2002, when her business began, company president and wedding consultant Keely Harris has planned a variety of unique and stylish occasions. Living in Chicago for more than ten years has given her plenty of resources for planning classy, urban events in the Windy City. However, she isn’t limited to Chicago, as she has also coordinated weddings in destination locations including Maui and California. Keely put her organizational skills to full-time use and became a wedding consultant after planning her own wedding. Although many brides cannot wait for all the planning and preparation to be over, Keely found she enjoyed herself quite a bit. She formed her business and services based on what she, as a bride, would have wanted from a wedding consultant. A current member of the Association of Bridal Consultants, Keely delivers top-quality service to her clients to create wonderful and memorable wedding days. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and is an accomplished pianist.
Paula Florell is a full-time planner and on-site coordinator at An Urban Affair. Paula has planned and coordinated weddings, both large and small, for the past ten years. She excels in ensuring that the bride, groom, and family members feel special and honored throughout the planning process and on the day-of. Paula enjoys this work because she will never tire of helping couples create a lasting memory of their special day. She likes to say that the day belongs to the bride, but a groom helps!
Meredith Davis is an on-site coordinator at An Urban Affair and also works as a corporate event planner for business dinners, meetings, and trips. This career gives her a great deal of experience and resources in coordinating and consulting, as well as sharpening the organizational skills needed for weddings. Meredith loves helping with weddings and makes it a priority to be aware of everything that is going on around her, ensuring that the day runs smoothly and on schedule. Meredith is a resident of Chicago and graduated from Roosevelt University.
Day-of and office assistant Juliana Carravetta began with An Urban Affair through a summer internship. She now assists in the office and on the day-of, and coordinates the day-of internship program. She attends Loyola in Chicago, and is originally from New York. Her goal is to one day be a full-time wedding planner—and she is certainly headed in that direction!
Day-of assistant Annette Gibson has worked with An Urban Affair to help numerous weddings flow smoothly to success. Like Keely, Annette was attracted to wedding planning after helping with a wedding in her own life—her daughter’s. She loves being a part of the excitement and anticipation of such joyous celebrations. When Annette isn’t working on weddings, she is an occupational therapist. She is also a musician who plays the piano and sings in her church choir. Annette lives in the northwest suburbs.
